Lighting Upgrade Project

The Merrill Area Concert Association could not host the performances that it does without the fine facilities at Merrill High School and Prairie River Middle School. Many of our visiting artists compliment the beautiful theaters and fine acoustics.

To show our appreciation and do our part to contribute to the upkeep and modernization of the facilities, the MACA has worked with MAPS to purchase several banks of lights—important “fixtures” in every show. These new lights—45 above and 22 from front—give new light and fresh possibility to every performance. Thanks to a generous bequest from Hermien Livingston, we are able to make this contribution back to our community, back to our schools, and “pay forward” to assure the fine quality of the facilities. Twenty years ago, Hermien Livingston’s generosity also allowed the MACA to contribute toward the purchase of the Mason & Hamlin grand piano that resides now in the High School  Auditorium, an ‘instrumental’ part of many of our performances, in addition to its regular use for school events.

We are only able to make these important contributions thanks to the kindness and generosity of Hermien Livingston, and her generosity is guaranteed to “shine” for years to come!
